590 million people suffer with dysphagia worldwide. Dysphagia means difficulty or inability to swallow. Dysphagia is not a disease but rather a symptom of an underlying condition. Dysphagia may occur as a result of Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, those with intellectual disabilities or can occur with some cancers, particularly of the mouth and oesophagus. The aim of this website is to help people with dysphagia; to provide guidance and support.
You will learn all about textured modified diets, with practical training on how to prepare foods safely with new IDDSI standards.
